Czechia and Slovakia: 2025

Spent a wonderful week getting to know a little bit about the two countries that used to be Czechoslovakia.  Spent time exploring Czechia (aka the Czech Republic) and Slovakia, and thoroughly enjoyed them and their capital cities.  Wish I had more time....


Prague, Czechia: A fabulous city to visit

Bratislava, Slovakia




The SNP (Slovak National Uprising) Bridge, aka the "New Bridge, a communist era engineering marvel, 1972.  The UFO Viewing Tower and Restaurant are built into the bridge pylons

A Castle Tour in Central Slovakia:  Headed out of town to see the countryside and visit three castles in various states of repair




Bojnice Castle:  Fully furnished; recently (1920's) updated

Beckov Castle:  Ruins only, but a great spot for sampling local wines and enjoying a spectacular sunset!
